The DA16200 SoC is the world's first Wi-Fi SoC delivering year plus battery life for always connected Wi-Fi IoT devices. DA16200 is low power Wi-Fi networking SoC that delivers a dramatic breakthrough in battery life even for devices that are continuously connected to the Wi-Fi network. In most applications, one year plus battery life is achievable. There is no tradeoff in output power or range as the SoC’s range is industry leading. The chip also features very strong IoT security, including WPA3 and TLS for authentication and encryption at Wi-Fi and higher stack layers.  The DA16200 is a full offload device, meaning the the entire Wi-Fi and TCP/IP networking stack and even end product application code can run on chip with no external CPU or MCU required. Alternatively, a small inexpensive MCU can send the DA16200 commands and the SoC will still perform the full offload networking stack functions.     

The DA16200 modules are the perfect complement to the DA16200 ultra low power Wi-Fi SoC.

Supply voltage requirement for DA16200MOD-AAC4WA32

Hi,

It is mentioned in DA16200MOD_Datasheet_Rev3v1.pdf, page2:

□ Operating voltage: 2.1 V to 3.6 V (typical: 3.3 V)
□ 2 Digital I/O Supply Voltage: 1.8 V / 3.3 V

1. Is is possible to run the DA16200 module on 2.8V (or 3.0V for that matter) instead of the typical 3.3V ?

2. Will the digital I/O be still 1.8V/3.3V or will it be 2.8v when the modules is powered from 2.8v

The I2C peripheral that I want to interface runs at 2.8v.

Thanks for coming and posting on our WiFi forums. Thanks also for your interest in our DA16200MOD Low-power WiFi solution.

Please check Table 4: Recommended Operating Conditions from the datasheet. The VBAT_3V3 could be from 2.1V to 3.6V – typically @ 3.3V.

The VDD_DIO1 and VDD_DIO1 could be from 1.62V to 3.6V.

-  VDD_DIO1 : Supply power for digital I/O

-  VDD_DIO2 : Supply power for digital I/O GPIOC6~GPIOC8, TMS/TCLK, TXD/RXD

According to table 5, if the VDD = 1.8V (VDD_DIO1/2), the max out voltage is 1.8.

According to table 6, if the VDD = 3.3V (VDD_DIO1/2), the max out voltage is 3.3.

So, if the VDD is 2.8V, I assume the output voltage on the digital I/O should be 2.8V.
