BLE Cable Replacement

BLE Cable Replacement
Today, appliances typically require embedded power supplies for their enhanced electronic controls and User Interfaces which often include connectivity (e.g. BLE) to support easy configuration and servicing. Our connectivity solutions offer BLE, BLE Mesh and Wi-Fi support with a variety of features to select from.
Various modern appliances have their User-Interface mounted on movable parts e.g. on the door of a refrigerator.
These UIs are typically connected through flex-foils or cables to the main control board. Repeatedly moving and bending cables pose a quality risk since breakage will likely occur over time while at the same time, their installation requires significant labor and increases cost.
Replacing a multitude of communication wires with a single, low-cost, standardized wireless radio, such as Dialog’s SmartBond™ DA14xxx BLE SOCs can decrease cost while increasing reliability and flexibility.
Additionally, replacing a multitude of wires through a wireless interface also enables sleeker mechanical designs.
To adopt the BLE cable replacement to existing UI designs, GreenPAKs can be used to adjust voltage levels, add real-time respons without software interaction and customize the number of available GPIO channels.
Since GreenPAKs offer functions such a configurable state-machines, numerous functions can be realized without writing software and having to verify its safety under various conditions.
