Animal Tracker / Location Tracker
Location trackers in well populated areas can benefit significantly from omnipresent Wi-Fi signals being transmitted by countless access points. These Wi-Fi signals can be used to locate a tracker with reasonable accuracy without operating GPS or a cellular radio and save significant amounts of power resulting in a much-improved battery life-time. Simple commissioning for non-tech savvy users is supported through BLE, since this does not interfere with the user’s internet connection while the tracker’s Wi-Fi is setup. Rechargeable solutions benefit from the integration level our SmartBond™ BLE DA14683 and DA1469x devices supporting charging and fuel-gauging in addition to features such as AES256 encryption, ECC authentication and various other high-level security features. In case a simple ‘RF-pipe’ Bluetooth Low Energy connection is sufficient, Dialog’s new DA14531 can be easily bolted onto the Wi-Fi SOC and our DA907x PMICs provide, charging, fuel gauging and power conversion for operation integrated into a single device. Very high performance charger port protection is added through our HFET1 devices.
