WattUp® is a revolutionary radio frequency (RF) based charging solution that delivers intelligent, scalable power via radio bands, similar to a Wi-Fi router. WattUp differs from older wireless charging systems in that it delivers power at a distance, to multiple devices - thus resulting in a wire-free experience that saves users from having to plug in their devices. WattUp technology is provided to Dialog under license from Energous Corporation.
WattUp is a fully scalable wireless charging technology. It is capable of supporting wire-free charging from Near Field (over a few millimeters), through to Mid Field (2 to 3 feet) and all the way to Far Field up to 15 feet. Ultra-small receivers are achieved through the use of RF-based antennas rather than the more traditional coil-based solutions, expanding wireless charging into wearables, hearables and other small, low-power devices. WattUp also provides greater freedom-of-placement while charging meaning it is less dependent on placing the device under charge in the same plane as the transmitter, further reducing design constraints.
Wireless Charging Product Portfolio
Family of wireless power RF-to-DC receivers which can be connected to 1 to 4 antennas. Antennas can be as small as 2mm x 3mm, typically used for hearables, and from 8mm x 8mm to 10mm x 10mm for wearables.

Fully integrated WattUp power transmitter IC which operates directly from 3.3V or 5V. Requires only an external crystal, power amplifier and transmit antenna to complete a Near Field WattUp power transmitter design.

Near Field WattUp System
The Near Field WattUp system is comprised of a WattUp wireless power transmitter (DA4100), a WattUp wireless power receiver (DA2200/DA2210), a DC-DC (buck/boost), a Li-Ion/Li-Poly battery charger and an optional Bluetooth® Low Energy communication link (DA14680/DA14681) which supports battery status communication between the WattUp receiver and transmitter. The same link can be used to provide the user with full power management capabilities using the WattUp Application running on a Smartphone or tablet. Antennas are fabricated using low-cost PCB material.
