SmartBond™ – part number DA14580 – is the world’s lowest power and smallest Bluetooth® Smart System-on-Chip (SoC). It more than doubles the battery life of an app-enabled smartphone accessory or computer peripheral in comparison to competing solutions on the market.
SmartBond is designed to connect keyboards, mice and remote controls wirelessly to tablets, laptops or Smart TVs and enables consumers to use innovative new apps on their smartphones and tablets ‒ connected with watches, wristbands and smart tags ‒ to “self-track” their health and fitness levels, locate lost keys and much more.
Smaller systems are more portable and attractive. The highly integrated DA14580 reduces external component count and board space requirements. Its compact package options include a wafer-level chip scale package just 2.5 x 2.5 x 0.5 mm in size. Moreover, its world-leading power consumption lets you use smaller batteries for even smaller systems.
Lower power consumption means smaller batteries and fewer battery changes. The DA14580’s unique Bluetooth low energy architecture draws 3.8 mA at transmission and reception – 50% less than other Bluetooth Smart solutions. Combined with a deep sleep current of under 600 nA this guarantees batteries last as long as your product does.
With its single-pin antenna interface and integrated analog blocks, the DA14580 ensures the lowest external component count. Together with the ability to use smaller batteries, this enables the lowest total BoM, allowing you to develop low-cost yet highly featured systems.
